14 Aug Hope and Homes for Children
Olga and Nick Leventis have made a generous contribution to Hope and Homes for Children by acquiring Waterworld, a 2023 photograph by acclaimed wildlife photographer David Yarrow. The piece, part of Yarrow’s African Lions series, is an archival pigment print produced in a limited edition, hand-signed by the artist.
The purchase is more than an addition to their personal collection, it’s a direct contribution to a cause close to the family’s heart. Hope and Homes for Children works globally to end institutional care for children, helping to reunite them with their families and build stronger, safer communities in their place. Thanking the couple for their support, the charity noted that gifts like this one help move them closer to making orphanages a thing of the past, ensuring every child has the chance to grow up in a family, not an institution.
This gesture reflects the same values that shape the Leventis family’s broader philanthropic work through the Uprising Foundation: a belief that meaningful, long-term impact matters more than visibility, and that real change starts with giving every child, wherever they are in the world, the chance to belong.
